Shige decided to approach her.

It has been a week since the art exhibit ended. The day after their first meeting, he heard from Kei that she only stayed at the art exhibit for one day. The art exhibit was a three-day event.

He remembered how excited he was to go there the next day. Just to be disappointed knowing another artist has replaced her booth.

Now, after a week, he was there at the cafe, silently drinking his Frappe, when he saw her. She was at the counter pointing at the cakes on the display.

He decided to approach her. It’s not gonna hurt to greet her, right?

And much as he hates to admit it, he was missing her company. He missed her funny wits, her antics, her smile, her twinkling eyes when smiling, how she always catch him off guard because he was staring at her and–wait!

He stopped walking. What the hell’s happened to him? What’s with the smile, eyes and everything?! Why did he ever thought of that?! More importantly, where did the words ‘he missed her’ came from?!

He shook his head and decided to approach her still. So, he continued walking.

“Yuki?” he started. When she looked at him, he swallowed.

“Shige!” she said, smiling. “It was nice seeing you here. Are you with someone?”

He shook his head abruptly. “No, no one.”

“Oh, I see. What do you want? Pick, it’s my treat.” she was starting to take out bills from her wallet when he stopped her.

“I’ll pay,” he said. “One mocha slice, please.”

“Huh? No way!” she declined. “I told you, it’s my treat so I’ll pay.”

“But I insist.” he lowered his head to her ears and whispered, “It’s not good for my handsome and gentleman image if I let a woman like you pay for me.” he smiled knowingly.

She chuckled. “Shut up! Okay fine, Mr. Handsome and Gentleman, I’ll let you pay for now but next time, I’ll be the one paying, understand?”

Yes! There’s a next time! He smiled. “Crystal clear,”

“Good. So, uh, where do you want to eat these? Here or you’re taking ’em home?”

“Have you had lunch?” he asked, to prolong the conversation.

She raised the paper bag from the certain cafe. “This is my lunch.”

His eyes widened. “What? A cake for lunch? Nuh-uh, I won’t allow that. Where do you want to eat?”

She chuckled once more. “Hey, it’s not as if we’re on a date, y’know.”

“It’s not healthy to just eat cakes for lunch!” he insisted.

I’ll never win on this. She sighed. “Okay, how about this, let’s take out food. I mean, real food. And eat them at my house. What do you say?”

More than okay! He wanted to yell that but instead, he stayed calm and answered, “Sure, let’s do that.”

And off they went.
